The clubhouse model emphasizes working relationships
as the key elements in assisting members in recovery.
When people join the clubhouse, they are asked to
choose one of our three work units as their home base.
In the work units, staff and members work side by side to
complete all the tasks of the clubhouse. Members and
staff work in partnership to complete all work ranging
from designing the web site to creating the newsletter to
running our café.
The work of the clubhouse is voluntary, but there is
always activity going on that creates a high expectation
of member involvement. This energy and excitement for
the important work of the clubhouse is often what draws
a member into doing things they had not imagined
before joining Haverhill Clubhouse. As members are
involved in clubhouse activities, they discover their
strengths, talents and abilities.
