Clubhouse Updates

Clubhouse
What is new at the Haverhill Clubhouse?

Where to begin? Clubhouse has seen nothing but changes
and all positive ones! The only thing that has stayed the
same is the quality of the program and the outside. Other
than that we have gotten quite the makeover. Thanks to
Lowe’s in Methuen we got some much needed work done
on our first level as well as a complete paint job. The CGO
Unit and Café area are painted a cool blue and we have a
nice cream color in the Diner that has brightened things
up! Everyone who walks in through those Clubhouse doors
have seen the changes and been uplifted by them. We
welcome all of our old members that have not come in for
some time to pay us a visit. We miss you, we want to see
what is new in your life and to show you how much has
happened here since you’ve been out!

Other changes in the Clubhouse include completely new
floors in the Diner, Administration has gone upstairs, and
CGO is now downstairs. CGO has been trying to expand
with now three staff in the unit we have welcomed new staff
Lisa Monk into the unit and Joenny has become the new
Job Coach. Together as a unit we are working to bring
more jobs to Clubhouse as well as empower our members
to feel job ready and prepared for opportunities to come.
CGO now hosts Resume Building Classes that takes
place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11am and have had an
awesome turnout. The classes are a success for those
looking to work, go back to work, and have not been to
work in a long time, or just have questions. Also on
Mondays and Wednesdays there is a General Curriculum
Class that is helpful for those looking to refresh their
educational skills. New TE’s and SE’s have been created
at Targets in Haverhill and Methuen.

New to the Clubhouse Diner Unit is Terry Watson, a
wonderful addition to the Clubhouse family who has
already made a name for herself with her cleanliness and
good meals. The Diner has welcomed a number of new
members and is a great place to come and share with the
Clubhouse Community. Wellness has become a big thing
for us here so we want to share that with all of you! Every
second Tuesday of the month there is a wellness class that
is brought in from UMASS Extension. For Wellness we are
also bringing new items to the Café like yogurt, granola
bars, fruits, and even healthier breakfasts!

Recently we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Party that
included tables filled with foods and desserts as well as
good company including the Point After Club, members of
the Board and other guests. The party also included a very
animated Yankee Swap which everyone truly enjoyed. On
Christmas Eve a number of staff came together to serve a
warm meal to the members. As always the plates were
filled with all kinds of great holiday food and for those who
could stand it pastries for dessert!
